NCISM Unani (BUMS Course) Detail: Unani medicine is a system of alternative medicine that originated in ancient Greece and was developed by various Muslim physicians in the medieval period. Unani medicine is based on the concept of four humors (blood, phlegm, yellow bile and black bile) and their balance in the body. Unani medicine aims to restore health by using natural substances, diet, exercise and lifestyle modifications.
NCISM Unani (Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery) is a five-and-a-half-year undergraduate course that trains students in the principles and practices of Unani medicine. The course consists of four-and-a-half years of academic study and one year of internship. The course covers subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, preventive and social medicine, surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, among others. The course also includes practical training in Unani dispensaries and hospitals.
NCISM Unani (BUMS Course) is recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) and approved by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.

The National Centre for Integrated Systems Medicine (NCISM) offers an elective course for Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) students who are interested in learning about the principles and applications of systems medicine. Systems medicine is an interdisciplinary approach that integrates data from different levels of biological organization, such as genes, proteins, cells, tissues, organs and organisms, to understand the complex interactions and dynamics of human health and disease. The course covers topics such as systems biology, network analysis, omics technologies, computational modeling, personalized medicine and translational research. The course also provides hands-on experience with various tools and software for data analysis and visualization. The course aims to equip BUMS students with the skills and knowledge to apply systems medicine concepts and methods in their clinical practice and research.
