Dravyaguna is one of the heaviest 2nd Prof subjects, and the new NCISM syllabus splits it into fundamental and applied papers. This Hindi Vol. 1 by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Tiwari and Dr. Ramananda is based on the new NCISM curriculum for second professional students.
A useful addition is a chapter on the principles of general pharmacology, which helps connect classical rasa-guna-virya-vipaka concepts to the modern pharmacology that the new syllabus expects.
This is Vol. 1 only. For the applied part, look at Vol. 2 (Dravyaguna Vigyan with Applied Aspects) by Dr. Ramananda and Prof. Makhan Lal.
Key takeaways
- Based on the new NCISM curriculum for 2nd Prof BAMS
- Adds a chapter on general pharmacology principles (Samanya Pharmacology ke Siddhant)
- 432 pages, Hindi
- Vol. 2 (applied aspects) is a separate book by Dr. Ramananda and Prof. Makhan Lal
