New Delhi: The Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, has officially initiated the selection process for “Gurus” and “Institutional Training Centres” for the 2026-27 academic session.
This recruitment drives the prestigious Certificate of Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (CRAV), a one-year course designed to train institutionally qualified Ayurveda doctors under the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara method.
Selected practitioners and institutions will be responsible for imparting practical clinical skills to young Ayurveda graduates and will receive a monthly honorarium for their services.

Who Can Apply? (The Hard Criteria)
The RAV has set strict, non-negotiable standards for applicants to ensure high-quality mentorship. The selection is divided into two categories:
1. Individual Gurus
To qualify as an individual mentor, a practitioner must meet the following benchmarks:
- Experience & Age: Must be at least 50 years old with a minimum of 20 years of clinical practice.
- Employment Status: The applicant must not be employed on a regular basis elsewhere. However, honorary positions are permitted.
- Patient Volume (OPD):
- General Practice: Minimum 40 patients per day in OPD.
- Surgical Practice: Minimum 25 OPD patients per day PLUS at least 15 surgical/para-surgical procedures (like Ksharsutra/Agni Karma) daily.
- Pharmacy Experts: Must own a pharmacy that has been functioning for at least 20 years.
2. Institutional Centres
Hospitals and institutions aiming to become training centres must meet these infrastructure requirements:
- Experience: The centre must have a standing of at least 10 years.
- Capacity: A minimum of 50 IPD beds and an average of 200 OPD patients per day.
- Status: Centres declared as a “Centre of Excellence” by the Ministry of Ayush are eligible.
- Pharmacies: Must possess GMP certification, a Drug Quality Monitoring facility, and an R&D department.
Key Dates & Application Process
RAV has mandated a dual-mode submission process. Applicants must send the application via Email AND Post.
- Application Deadline: December 22, 2025.
- Eligibility Cut-off Date: The candidate’s age and experience will be calculated as of 22.12.2025.

Why This Matters
The CRAV course bridges the gap between theoretical college education and practical clinical reality. By empaneling experienced Vaidyas who are not bound by regular employment, RAV aims to transfer “self-learned knowledge” and clinical secrets to the next generation without reservation.
This is a temporary empanelment, and the selected Gurus/Institutions will be paid based on the actual training period.
Actionable Next Step
If you fit the criteria (Age 50+, 20 Years Exp) or run a qualifying hospital, do not wait. The dual-submission requirement (Email + Post) means you need to act immediately to ensure the physical copy reaches New Delhi by December 22, 2025.
