I’m back with another blog post on a topic that many of you have been asking me about: will the government extend the cut-off date of completion of an internship towards the determination of eligibility for appearing in AIAPGET 2023? This is a very important question for all aspiring Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) practitioners who want to pursue postgraduate courses in these fields.
As you may know, the AIAPGET is the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test that is conducted every year by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to select candidates for admission to various AYUSH PG courses. The eligibility criteria for appearing in this exam include having a Bachelor’s degree in the respective AYUSH system from a recognized university and completing a one-year compulsory rotatory internship by a specified date.

AIAPGET 2023: Will the Government Extends the Cut-off Date for Completion of the Internship
For AIAPGET 2022, the cut-off date for completion of the internship was 30th September 2021. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns and disruptions in the academic calendar, many students could not complete their internship on time and were left in a dilemma about their future prospects. To address this issue, the Ministry of AYUSH issued a notification on 22nd October 2021, stating that the cut-off date of completion of the internship for AIAPGET 2022 has been extended to 31st December 2021. This was a welcome relief for many students who were eagerly waiting for this announcement. But what about AIAPGET 2023?
Will the Government Extend of Cut-off Date of Completion of the Internship towards the Determination of Eligibility for Appearing in AIAPGET 2023?
The government has not yet announced whether it will extend the cut-off date for completion of the internship towards the determination of eligibility for appearing in AIAPGET 2023. However, there are a number of factors that suggest that the government may do so.
According to Government’s official letter,
– the number of medical students who are expected to appear for AIAPGET 2023 is expected to be significantly higher than in previous years. This is due to the fact that the government has increased the number of seats in medical colleges. As a result, there will be more competition for seats in postgraduate AYUSH courses, and students who are unable to complete their internships by the current cut-off date may be at a disadvantage.
– the government has a history of extending the cut-off date for completion of internships in the past. For example, the government extended the cut-off date for completion of the internship for NEET PG 2023 by two months. This suggests that the government is willing to make exceptions to the eligibility requirements in order to accommodate students who have been affected.
Overall, there are a number of factors that suggest that the government may extend the cut-off date for completion of the internship towards the determination of eligibility for appearing in AIAPGET 2023. However, the government has not yet made a decision, and students who are concerned about their eligibility should contact the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for more information.
